You will need a registration code before you can register. If you are a student at an Ottawa high school, ask your teacher about registering for this conference. Your teacher may be provided with some codes already, or can request some.
It is free for high school students and chaperones to attend the conference.
Your teacher should discuss this with you and come up with a plan. If your teacher needs help with this, please get them to contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org and we will be happy to help.
Round one of registration closes April 1, 2017. After that, we will see if anyone has leftover registration codes and if there is still space, we will open a second round of registration.
After round 1 codes have been given out, students will have to register by April 1st. If there are unused codes at that point, we will release more registration spots to your school if you get your teacher to request them. Please be sure that your teacher knows you would like to attend so that they can ask for a round 2 registration code for you.
Yes, there will be food served throughout the day. If you have serious allergies or sensitivities to food items, please bring your own food, as we can’t promise that the food will be 100% safe for you to eat. However, we will take reasonable steps to make sure that there isn’t cross-contamination, and we will be offering vegan items for students who can’t eat meat, eggs and/or milk.
Absolutely! Let your teacher know that you would like to register and we will do our best to get a registration code to you if you haven’t already got one.
The themes of the conference are related to the 10 principles of fair trade and include topics like human rights, environmental protection and women’s empowerment.
Once you are registered and we finalize the workshop schedule, you will get an email that asks you to choose which workshops you would like to attend. Usually there will be a few going on at a time, so you will have lots of selection.
We are estimating that about 200 people will be at the conference, from many schools across Ottawa.
That is the decision of your parents and teacher. They will be encouraged to register chaperones if they feel it is necessary, so that there will be adults with you at the conference.
If your question isn’t answered here, please send us a message at email@example.com and we will do our best to answer your question.
